Q: Do I have to go to the repair facility that my insurance company recommends?
A: No. You are not required to go to a repair facility that your insurance company suggests and are free to choose who you would like to work on your vehicle.
Q: Do I need to make an appointment for a collision repair estimate?
A: It is not necessary to make an appointment but it will allow us to better serve you if you do. We make scheduling an appointment convenient for you by giving you the option to do so via our website or by phone.
Q: Will you inform me of the repairs being done on my vehicle before you start them?
A: Absolutely! After you drop off your vehicle, we will disassemble the damaged and effected areas completely. We will not start on the repairs for your vehicle until we have the consent and authorization of both you and your insurance carrier.
Q: Can you fix other/unrelated damage while my vehicle is there?
A: We would be happy to provide an estimate to repair any other damage. Just let us know about any unrelated damage when dropping off your vehicle. Often, it is the least expensive time to complete additional repairs as the insurance repair may overlap into what you need to have done.
Q: How long is the warranty on the collision repairs and the paint job?
A: We warranty all of our repair workmanship for as long as you own the vehicle. The parts' warranty will vary based on manufacturer of the part.
Q: What type of payments do you accept?
A: We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards.
Q: Do you have rental cars available while my vehicle is being repaired?
A: We will work directly with your insurance and rental companies to ensure you are placed in a rental vehicle while repairs are made. Typically we can assist in direct billing to the insurance carrier. Need a rental but not included on your insurance plan? We may be able to assist at no additional cost to you!
Q: If I receive a check from the insurance company, do I keep it, or give it to you?
A: If your insurance company has already prepared an estimate, we will use that as the initial basis for repairs to your vehicle. If they have issued payment, that and any deductible owed will be paid to the shop upon completion of repairs. If there are any additional charges owed to complete repairs to your vehicle, we will handle it directly with your insurance provider. In the end, you can endorse the check over to Gateway Collision, LLC upon completion of repairs.
